Linda Gillies/Vandana Hegde against Amanda Cutt/Anne Irvine was a match that could have been won by either pairing; Linda/V progressed to the semi finals after a tight 4-3 victory. Gillian Hayes/Jenny Lawson were up against Gaynor McHaffie/Lisa Dominick in the last quarter final match, Gill/Jenny booked their semi final slot courtesy of a 4-2 victory.
Elaine Campbell/Fiona Herd were against Yvonne Ewing/Laura Colquhoun; this on paper was a tough match to call. Yvonne/Laura were delighted in booking their place in the final after a comfortable 3-1 victory. Their opponents were Linda Gillies/Vandana Hegde who defeated Gilllian Hayes/Jenny Lawson very convincingly (3-1).
The final was played to best of 5 and went to the wire, both pairings playing very well. Linda Gillies pulled out an exceptional double to secure the title of 2010 Ladies Scotch Doubles Champions. Well done Linda and V, thoroughly deserved title and I for one am looking forward to a re-match.
