Just a quick note to draw your diary attention to the these dates for the Welsh Festival of Pool at Trecco Bay Caravan Park near Cardiff. I am still waiting on the main organisers giving me further information but i have agreed to promote the women's events in order to make sure they are good! It will incorporate a 5-women team, Open Singles and if entries are good enough a ladies doubles i would imagine. The venue is great and caravans lovely - not what they used to be, central heating, double glazing etc! I will come back with further info but it's a great competition and cheap and cheerful - guesstimating maybe just under or around 100 all in for accomodation & entry into all the main events. Feedback, entries etc welcomed as i intend the womens side of the event to be top notch!

Quality man!

Defo be there, the last one was absolutely brilliant. The caravans were top notch - warm and cosy. And the banter was ace as we were all neighbours. Myself and Dempster went on the rob for breakfast materials.

Let me know and i'll let the english know as they will be interested in putting some teams in

Bit more information, please start letting me know if you're coming and get arrangements made cos it's a riot! Grin

***Here are the basic details of the Welsh Pool Championships 2010 for those interested and need to book holidays etc

Venue :- Trecco Bay holiday park, Porthcawl

Dates :- 24-28th November 2010

Tournaments :- Mens and Ladies 5 person team, Mens Closed, Mens and Ladies Open singles and Doubles.

Cost :- Aprox 89 per person (to include all tournament fees and accomodation)

Entry forms will be distributed around mid July.

Any queries please call me on 07814024680.

As like last year the tables will be Supreme Winners - also all accomodation will be double glazed and central heating which went down well with all who attended last year!!! - The only caravan park event i've been to and come home without man flu!

The tournament will start on 7-30pm on the 24th (Weds) with the mens doubles - so players will only need 2 days off work (except those who work weekends!) to attend this event! - and will run through to the Sunday, which will be finals day and presentation.

All finer details will be decided over the coming months, possibility of other events there etc

Hopefully we can build on last years success and take this tournament back to its hay day of the 90's.***

it was the county last year Valdo, so assume it's the same again this year.

was a total riot last year, a cosy warm riot.

Hi ladies,

I now have confirmation that the Ladies events at the festival will commence on the Thursday evening so most of you can probably get away with just the one day off work. Plus of course any required recovery time lol! Please make sure that you allow for finals etc on the Sunday, it is a "play day" and anyone lucky enough to still be in the events will have matches to play.

Ladies package deal -

4 nights accom (thurs-sun)
Welsh Ladies 5-person team event
Welsh Ladies Open Singles entry
Welsh Ladies Open Doubles entry

75 per player.

Ladies Schedule (Aprox and based on 12 teams)

Thurs 25th, 8-30pm Welsh Ladies Open Doubles. (depending on entries played down to final)

Fri 26th, 10am Ladies County (session 1)
2pm Ladies County (session 2)
7pm Ladies Open Singles.

Sat 27th, 10am Session 3
12 noon Session 4
2pm Session 5
6pm Plate 1/4 final
8pm Continuation of Ladies Singles (Played down to final)

Sun 28th, Finals Day - Scheduling cant be done exactly until the Saturday evening.

Provided i get 12 team entries then there will be a plate type event for those teams who do not get through the initial stages, i will confirm details once we have a better idea of numbers.

This event is excellent value at 75 and is going to be a blast, i've had a couple of teams actually pestering me to pay deposits lol! There are various chances to get some/all of your money back and hopefully something towards the drink bill.

If teams could please confirm they are entering asap and get deposits of 40 per person to my by end of August i would be grateful? The sooner we have confirmed numbers the more strength i have to annoy Bushy with so don't dilly-dally please. We are hoping to organise, if possible, some sort of entertainment over the weekend too such as tunes, karaoke & speedpool, but will not be laying out money etc without committment so chop chop! Can't wait!! Grin

Just in case anyone else is on the same zoomer tablets as wee V, all of the ladies events are "open" and are called Welsh because its the WELSH FESTIVAL OF POOL lol! Laughing

Still some to confirm so may creep up to 10 but time will tell as a few teams dropped out due to Rhyl etc.

Looking forward to a fab event though, convinced them to put on karaoke and speed pool to add to the fun element of the Festival - can't wait!!!

Would just like to wish teams going down the very best of luck Thumbs up! Gutted im not going tho Angry, going to cry myself to sleep all weekend :-(

Special mention ti ma neebs Katie, who was playing fantastic last night, never looked like missing a shot. Keep it up doll.
