The SPA would just like to inform ALL our members that the Scottish Singles Finals will be held on the weekend of the 19th/21st of October.
The original date had to be changed because of the World Championships.

Once the SPA Exec have confirmed that all details are ok the venue will also be annouced, it will be held in a hotel with 16 supreme tables, full internet coverage of the finals will be shown throughout the weekend.

Reduced rates for players who wish to stay at the hotel have been arranged BUT there is no requirement for players to stay.

The Scottish Singles will have a GUARANTEED prize fund of 5000 with an entry fee of 5, poster/entry forms can be collected at the next SPA meeting.

The Scottish Ladies Singles will have a GUARANTEED prize fund of 1000 with and entry fee of 10.

The SPA also hope that every other section LDs/PDs/Under 23s/under 18s and Seniors will hold their finals over the weekend and that they will be shown live on the internet, this will be up to each section to chose.

The SPA would like to thank the following companies Max Security Systems, B & E Transport, Billy Crystal Trophies and Main Event Poker for sponsoring these events.

We're you not emailed the entry form Lynsey?

The venue for this year's Scottish Singles is the Erskine Bridge Hotel. The ladies matches will not begin before 5pm. This is to accomodate the 10 players currently in Ireland at the Nations Cup.

Yes, I knew the location (I just couldn't remember), I was double checking the start time (as I had heard it had been changed to 5pm,) as it had not been confirmed.

I will no longer make this, if it is a 5pm start for our matches. I believe Pauline will also no longer make the event, but I'll let her confirm this herself Sad

It was confirmed Lynsey on the main SPA site - im sorry you cant make it now but please remember, there is only the one round of matches (5pm) on the Saturday unless there is more than 32 entries. I would think it fair to penalise the players currently representing Scotland in Dublin.

The last 16 will commence around noon on the Sunday.

Yes, I know they are representing Scotland. The singles was the main reason I didn't put my name forward, as I knew they clashed. Just really an unfortunate case of bad timing with international events.

I won't make it.

Good luck to everyone playing Smile
